Argos Home Delivery
I recently went to Argos to buy a new desk much like the ones I have bought in the past from Argos, in that I’ve just gone to the store, purchased, collected it and then somehow managed to get it stuffed into my car and taken home.
However, on this recent occasion, the day the latest new Argos Spring/Summer 2008 catalogue was released in fact, I went along a normal to buy my desk. I only found out once I’d got there that it would seem that a lot of the bulkier items are now delivery only.
I wish I’d known this first as it’d have saved me a 50 mile round trip just to pick up some new catalogues in the end!
I can understand how it saves Argos shipping larger, bulkier items to every store, I just wish that they had passed this saving onto the customer because the Argos delivery charge of £4.95 applies on all home delivered products, when it’s obviously a major saving to them.
That said, the home delivery charge of £4.95 is a fixed cost no matter how many items are on your order – the lesson here is to order all your items together, perhaps even check with friends and family to save on costs.
